The CWG Prayer Chain Post is a weekly post for members to include their special intentions by adding a comment.

1 Thes 1:3
We remember before our God and Father how active is the faith, how unsparing the love, how persevering the hope which you have from our Lord Jesus Christ.
The power of prayer and the power of people praying.

October Intention Prayer

Phillipians 4:6-9

Never worry about anything; but tell God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shot through with gratitude, and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, let your minds be filled with everything that is true, everything that is honourable, everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire — with whatever is good and praiseworthy. Keep doing everything you learnt from me and were told by me and have heard or seen me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

Please leave a comment with your intention. If you have problems adding an intention, email it to Mike Hays at coachhays@gmail.com and I will add it.  God bless.

  1. Thursday's Prayer for Priests:
Mary, Mother of the Church and Mother of God, to you we turn. With your "yes" you

have opened the door to the presence of Christ in the world, in history and in souls,

receiving in humble silence and total submission the appeal of the Most High.

Grant that many men and women may know and hear, even today, the inviting

voice of your Son: "Follow Me". Stretch out your motherly hand over all missionaries

scattered throughout the world, over religious men and women who assist the elderly,

the sick, the deficient, the orphans; over those who are engaged in teaching, over the

members of secular institutes, the silent leaven of good works; over those who in the

cloister live on faith and love and beg for the salvation of the world. Amen.

    ~Pope John Paul II

  2. What great scriptures to contemplate. An interesting thing about Paul is that in all his letters to various communities he always begins with some statement of praise or affection for the community! (i.e. the Thessalonians passage above) This was a feat because despite his mentoring several of the communities continued to argue and bicker like children when he wasn't there with them. We tend to dismiss the efficacy of prayer because you can't "see it". But we need to remember the power of a Catholic is in the "invisible". Pray always, we are united in Christ. Amen
