“A Dragon’s Eye View” and

“Thirty Minute Marketer” Available Now

CWG Member Karina Fabian released the January issue of “A Dragon’s Eye View.” If you’ve not met Karina’s dragon, Vern, here’s a chance to taste his wit, read part of one of his novels, and find out the other stories and news of the DragonEye, PI world. You can find Vern’s newsletter at Karina’s DragonEye,PI website.

Also, Karina Fabian’s marketing newsletter, 30-Minute Marketer, posts every Monday at her website 30minutemarketer.karinafabian.com. The 30-Minute Marketer is a serial e-book of weekly marketing tasks and lessons, published monthly at 30minutemarketer. Once a week for an entire year, you will be given four tasks that should take around 30 minutes each: One will be a repeating task–repetition sells! One will be a follow-up task from the week before–how often we miss opportunities because we don’t follow up! One will be a long term project, broken into weekly installments as necessary, and one will be a simple task or new idea. You can do one or all of the tasks, but however much you do, The 30-Minute Marketer will help you develop the habit of regular marketing.

Karina Fabian’s next class is Worldbuilding 201, taught at Savvy Authors. Worldbuilding 201: ( **NOTE** Need to have taken Worldbuilding 101 or have an established world!) Let’s take it up a notch! This forum class will help you apply your world to your story, explore it in more depth. We’ll create some simple supporting documents, play with scenes, and take your world to the next story. Jan 30, 2012 – Feb 26, 2012, at savvyauthors.com.

If you like dragons, nuns and secret agents, and you’re interested in a good laugh, mark your calendars for Live and Let Fly, the next DragonEye, PI, novel coming from Karina Fabian and MuseItUp. In April, Vern and Grace take on their biggest Save-the-Universes case ever as they stop a deranged Norse Goddess from bringing Armageddon to our world. Assisted by Herald Charlie Wilmot, pop star Rhoda Dakota, CIA Agent Rakness, Stan Rakness, the USMC, and the Faerie Spanish Inquisition, it’s a wild ride of twisted clichés, myths turned on their ear, and super-spy spoofing. You can find more about Live and Let Fly at dragoneyepi.net.

Catholic Writers’ Guild Online Conference Coming Soon!

The 2012 Online Conference is happening March 17-31. See this link for details.

We’ve extended the dates thanks to feedback from attendees who say there’s too much to balance in one week. This year, we’ll be holding the forum part of the conference first. From March 17-24, the forums will be open so that you can read, do assignments and get feedback from our fantastic presenters at your own leisure. (Remember, forums are open 24 hours a day, and presenters will be visiting them frequently.) The forums will remain up, but presenters do not need to reply to posts after March 24.

March 24-31, we will have only chats. These are scheduled one-hour moderated chats on a variety of topics. We will also be holding pitch sessions and prayer time this week.

We’re signing up presenters as we speak. If you are a presenter and would like to participate, please register at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SXJVLJW.
