As I prepare for the upcoming Catholic Writers’ Conference, I was surprised to learn the other day that most conference registrations come in during the last two weeks before a conference.  I had no idea!

Whether you are yourself able to attend or not, I’d encourage you to let others know about the conference.  I learned about the CWG’s online conference years ago when Ruth at Wheelie Catholic just happened to mention it — she herself had no affiliation with the CWG, but she thought some of her readers might be interested.

I’m forever grateful to her for that one small favor to her readers!  I went to my first conference as an aspiring writer mostly just interested in learning a little more about my favorite hobby.  Now I’m on the verge of signing my first book contract.  (You can pray about that? Thanks!)  Along the way, members of the CWG have helped me tremendously, and I never felt pressured to join until I was ready.

As the editor of this blog, it’s my pleasure to work with writers at every point in their career from rank beginner to seasoned professional.  Whether your interest is improving your writing for personal reasons, building your first blog, or letting the world know you’ve got yet another great book ready, the CWG is here to support you.

The Catholic Writers Conference is one way we do that, and no, you do not have to be a member of the CWG to attend.  We open our conference to everyone, and while it is a Catholic event, non-Catholics are welcome to attend our conferences.

Can’t wait to see you in Dallas!
