(Note: I know this Monday is actually October 1 and this week’s CWG Prayer Chain Post should have flipped to an October Intention Prayer, but I admit with a giant smile on my face that I cheated. I am going to squeeze an extra week for the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. Why, you ask? Because, I’m a Mike and I really like my patron saint and this extraordinary prayer. I apologize for the blatant favoritism, but what’s a Mike supposed to do?)

Mark 9:38-40
John said to him, ‘Master, we saw someone who is not one of us driving out devils in your name, and because he was not one of us we tried to stop him.’

But Jesus said, ‘You must not stop him; no one who works a miracle in my name could soon afterwards speak evil of me. Anyone who is not against us is for us.’

The power of prayer and the power of people praying.

SEPTEMBER INTENTION PRAYER 

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host –
by the Divine Power of God –
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen

  2. My wife and I co-teach 7th & 8th grade CCD. We had our first class yesterday for the year. We spent a good deal of the time stressing to the kids the reality of Angels (and Demons). We talked about the Feast of the Archangels,of the Archangels in the Bible. We talked about their Guardian Angels and encouraged them to pray/talk to them daily and often. They did seem to be interested in the topic.
