The CWG Prayer Chain Post is a weekly post for members to include their special intentions by adding a comment.

Acts 10:34-38

Then Peter addressed them, ‘I now really understand’, he said, ‘that God has no favourites, but that anybody of any nationality who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.’ God sent his word to the people of Israel, and it was to them that the good news of peace was brought by Jesus Christ — he is the Lord of all. You know what happened all over Judaea, how Jesus of Nazareth began in Galilee, after John had been preaching baptism. God had anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and because God was with him, Jesus went about doing good and curing all who had fallen into the power of the devil.

The power of prayer and the power of people praying.

JANUARY INTENTION PRAYER

PRAYER TO THE HOLY FAMILY
Lord Jesus Christ, who, being made subject to Mary and Joseph, didst consecrate domestic life by Thine ineffable virtues; grant that we, with the assistance of both, may be taught by the example of Thy holy Family and may attain to its everlasting fellowship. Who livest and reignest, world without end. Amen.

  1. Today’s epistle reading at Mass from Hebrews fits well with the reading from Acts and the prayer to the Holy Family. Hebrews describes Jesus as the “very imprint of His (The Father’s) being.”

Jesus, who shares our human nature is set above the angels. Our nature is raised with Him.

Hebrews adds, “…He had accomplished purification from sins….” Those were our sins. He opened the door for humans to sit in his majestic company. What a gift to savor! Let’s never forget it.
