roundupWow, a whole month went by and I didn’t get one blog post up! Lucky for you, there are lots of better examples among us….members who did that hard thing and Kept on Posting!!

Barb Bozark links St. Benedict, aging, John Donne and Oklahoma creatively…sorry her post got deleted from this post on its first edition!

Connie Rossini offers a beautiful rosary hymn and a great idea for family prayer. I love the idea of a ‘contemplative home school’ and no, I was not swayed by the lovely portrait of a Charlotte on this post. PS It’s worth scooting around a bit to discover how Connie bribes her kids to help get books written – major practicality from a contemplative!

Larry Peterson introduced me to a new heroine. Next time someone tells you to remove the crucifix from the place where you work, remember Blessed Maria Restituta!

Don Mulcare proves that blogging can sometimes be just pure old fun….the old rant-as-fable ploy… we should all have this much fun on our blogs!

Nancy Ward gives me the feeling I’d have more radiant joy with a friend like her around! You’ve got to see the picture of the beautiful sign God gave at a friend’s funeral, and then you’ve got to wonder if you’d have noticed it, like Nancy did.

Erin McCole-Cupp actually gave me a choice between a Flannery O’Connor piece and other good work. Are you kidding, Erin??? Of course I’d go for Flannery! Especially since you reviewed one of my all-time fav books!

For my contribution, I’m cheating and submitting a review I did for CatholicFiction.net of Guild Member Ann Frailey’s book, Aram. I do this for three reasons:

1) CatholicFiction.net is looking for reviewers for a number of books right now, and I think Guild Members jolly well oughta go write some,

2) Ann Frailey, recently widowed, could use our support, so read my review and go buy copies of Aram to give away (and send the review/book link to everyone you know), and

3) I still hope all you book reviewers out there will send me links to your favorite book reviews so that I can do a Review Round-Up to showcase your work and have good examples handy for reviewer-wannabes.

Keep on Posting!!

  1. Laura, put the first Wednesday of each month on your calendar for the Round-up. Then, by the Monday before it, send me the link to your favorite blog post (your own blog!) for the previous month. Mail your link to charoster@yahoo.com and I’ll include it happily!

  2. Hey Charlotte! I was wondering how we get included in the blog round up! I know you have mentioned it before, but I don’t quite remember. Thanks!
