roundupI’m a big fan of mutual admiration societies, so I hope you will all read the blog posts your fellow Guild members have shared. Meanwhile, let’s plan to change the Round-Up to Writers Read in the coming months. See details after these five must-reads:

Carolyn Astfalk – I hope it’s not too late to take your advice! I’m getting my shoes on…

Michael Seagriff – You took a chance on placing the choicest pearl at the end of your article! I hope writers really do read. Thanks for this.

Nancy Ward – Thanks for this insight – I love a great question!

Larry Peterson – I miss him, too, Larry!

And I (Charlotte Ostermann) have poetic advice for a fractious church!

So, what’s next in this space?

Pile of BooksWriters Read

I know you do…you must! All writing advice begins with the importance of good reading…at least, all the best writing advice. I’d like to know what you’re reading, and what you’re reviewing. Please send your contribution by the second Monday of each month (Hint: Put November 9th on your calendar.)

What to Send

  • A precis (three-sentence max) of any book you consider well-worth reading. Writers are ‘catholic’ readers, so it doesn’t have to be ‘spiritual’ or ‘about writing’ or ‘perfect’.
  • A link to a book review you have recently written for an online venue, or a mention of one you’ve had published the old-fashioned, inky way.
  • A question, if you have one, about some book – in case one of your fellow Guild members can give an answer.

Send one, or all. Then check out the post on the third Wednesday. (Hint: Put November 18th on your calendar.)

THANKS to all who respond. To respond is an act by which you increase your freedom, so take this opportunity to grow, please!!
