Different Stripes

And with his stripes we are healed. – Isaiah 53:5 (RSV)

Endings and beginnings are exciting yet have veins of sadness, for we cannot relive bygone days and know that tomorrow brings change. Adding layers to the picture are gatherings that accompany some rites of passage where we encounter individuals who may trigger deep emotions, happy or hurtful.

The soul can be soothed with quiet splendor as seen in the evening sky.  Or indoors while worshipping, we commune with the Prince of Peace who bore painful stripes on our behalf.

Thank you, Jesus, for the healing balm of beauty and the humble splendor of your sacrifice. Help us to trust you amidst change, amidst pain.
