A Round of Applause for:

Congratulations to CWG members Lisa Hendey and Elizabeth Scalia on their recent trip to Rome as invited participants in the Vatican blog meeting.  Not only were these esteemed authors chosen to take part in the Pontifical meeting on developing the Catholic blogosphere, their meeting coincided with the beatification of Blessed Pope John Paul II.  What a double blessing for Lisa and Elizabeth for their work and faith!

Check out Lisa’s Catholic Mom blog at www.catholicmom.com to read about her journey to Rome.  Elizabeth, managing editor of the Catholic Portal at the religious resource site www.Patheos.com, even held a position on the presenting panel at the Vatican blog meeting.

And who is Larissa Hoffman at gmail dot com?
Think of me as your blog Newsie, ready to yell “Extra! Extra!” in cyberspace.  When I’m not wearing short pants and an eight-panel cap at the CWG blog site, you’ll find me in lovely Peachtree City, Georgia.  Besides my newsboy cap, I wear hats as a wife, a mother to two young girls, and an unpublished  writer.  My husband and I celebrated our ninth year as converts to the Church this Easter Vigil.  We also recently moved from Japan where I first joined the CWG through the wonderful Catholic Writers’ Guild conference.

Which brings me to…
Please check the recent post on CWG Volunteer Drive to help at the Catholic Writers’ Conference Live! In Valley Forge, PA, on August 2-5, 2011.

And as always don’t forget the Sunday Night Chat at www.catholicwritersguild.com from 9-11 pm EST.

Blessings,
Larissa
