Anne Faye and Elena Maria Vidal have kindly stepped forward to round out Catholic Fiction Saturdays — thank you!

After some conferring in the dark recesses of Blog Central Command, we’ve decided that rather than fill in the last fiction opening, we’re going to experiment with a new all-genres blog event once a month: Writing Help Open Combox.

Starting Friday Evening at 5:00 p.m. EST, put your writing help questions in the combox of the Writing Help post.  (It will appear then.)  Stick around to offer answers and encouragement to your fellow writers.  This is a chance to ask for very specific advice in order to help you move to the next step in your writing life.

Everyone starts out writing as a rank beginner, and everyone always has room for more growth, so any and all questions are welcome.  Want someone to quick look at your website and give you ideas?  Want help fixing an uncooperative paragraph?  Trying to figure out which publishers are looking for 80,000 words of Celtic Sci-Fi Detective Comedy?  And what is the difference between ‘lay’ and ‘lie’ anyway?

It’s like a mini-conference, one Saturday a month.

–> And remember you can also bring questions to Live Chat every Sunday night.

We’ll try it and see how it goes.  Look for a post this Friday afternoon.  See you there!

  1. Elena, I'm just thrilled with the variety of writers we have working with the guild. I know a lot of people love to read historical fiction, but making the leap to writing it can be intimidating. It is very encouraging to see how many top notch authors and publishers turn out at the CWG conferences to help newer writers. Having a few also come help with the blog? That's awesome.

  2. Thank you for the introduction, Jennifer! I am grateful for the opportunity to share and learn!
