The CWG Prayer Chain Post is a weekly post for members to include their special intentions by adding a comment.

Second Corinthians 12:7-10
Wherefore, so that I should not get above myself, I was given a thorn in the flesh, a messenger from Satan to batter me and prevent me from getting above myself. About this, I have three times pleaded with the Lord that it might leave me; but he has answered me,

‘My grace is enough for you: for power is at full stretch in weakness.’

It is, then, about my weaknesses that I am happiest of all to boast, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me; and that is why I am glad of weaknesses, insults, constraints, persecutions and distress for Christ’s sake. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.

The power of prayer and the power of people praying.

JULY INTENTION PRAYER

Prayer for the New Evangelization

Lord Jesus Christ,

You have given your Church
the mission to proclaim the Gospel to all the nations.

May our efforts to fulfill this mission be guided by the Holy Spirit
so that we might be a leaven of new life,
salt of the earth and a light of the world,
worthy missionaries and faithful to You.

Make us valiant witnesses to the Faith of the Church
and inspire us to speak the truth with love.

Help us to communicate to others the joy that we have received.

Permit us to be united, but not closed.
humble, but not fearful
simple, but not naïve
thoughtful, but not overbearing
contemporary, but not superficial
respectful of others, but boldly Your disciples.

May we bear into the world the hope of God, which is Christ the Lord,
who rose from the dead and lives and reigns with Father and the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us!
St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, Pray for us!
St. Peter and St. Paul, Pray for us!
St. Thérèse, Patroness of Missionaries, Pray for us!
St Thomas Aquinas, Pray for us!

  1. I am an active Catholic and daily communicant. I believe that God can and does heal us directly or through others today (as in earlier times) for His greater glory. One reason I believe this reality is because a sister of mine and her husband are both chiropractors (Raleigh, NC) and, over their years of service, have been conduits of God’s healing presence and power for their patients.
You may want to touch base with them as part of your present discernment process. See http://www.bodywisdomchiropractic.com

  2. Please free for guidance for my wife and I. My wife is a Chiropractor. She closed her office years ago to take care of family needs. It now seems that maybe God is opening a door for her to reopen her business, he has gifted her with an ability to heal people through her work. We are scared and unsure as to what we should do. All prayers for guidance are appreciated.

  3. Prayers of gratitude to the Lord and an intention to further the success for a new project that I did not want to do because it is so difficult and brings up spiritual challenges but can serve the New Evangelization. Parishioners just would not “let it be” and priests gave great encouragement moving me forward into a territory traveled before and steeped in evil but creating an exceptional plotline that is not only true but in service to our Fortnight for Freedom themes and directly tied to politics. Please pray that in confronting evil with the help of our prayers, triumph will be swift and sufferings offered up.
