The CWG Prayer Chain Post is a weekly post for members to include their special intentions by adding a comment.

Acts 2:14, 36-41

Then Peter stood up with the Eleven and addressed them in a loud voice: ‘Men of Judaea, and all you who live in Jerusalem, make no mistake about this, but listen carefully to what I say. ‘For this reason the whole House of Israel can be certain that the Lord and Christ whom God has made is this Jesus whom you crucified.’ Hearing this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, ‘What are we to do, brothers?’ ‘You must repent,’ Peter answered, ‘and every one of you must be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise that was made is for you and your children, and for all those who are far away, for all those whom the Lord our God is calling to himself.’ He spoke to them for a long time using many other arguments, and he urged them, ‘Save yourselves from this perverse generation.’ They accepted what he said and were baptised. That very day about three thousand were added to their number.

The power of prayer and the power of people praying.

MAY INTENTION PRAYER

Mary, Mother of God
O Mary, Mother of God As You are above all creatures in Heaven and Earth, more glorious than the Cherubim, more noble than any here below, Christ has given You to His people, firm bulwark and Protectress, to shield and save sinners who fly unto You. Therefore O Lady, all embracing refuge, we solemnly recall Your sweet protection, and beg Christ forever for His mercy.
Amen

  1. From Leslie Lynch:
I am moved and saddened at the plight of Mariam Yahya Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman sentenced to die for the “apostasy” of marrying a Christian man in a Muslim country. Here is a link to one of the news articles about the situation: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/15/mariam-yahya-ibrahim_n_5328966.html and here is a link to Larry Peterson’s blog on the subject: http://slipperywillie.blogspot.com/2014/05/meet-martin-wani-american-baby-in.html
The least we (who have yet to shed our blood for our faith) can do when our fellow Christians face martyrdom is pray for them.
Lord have mercy on us all.
