CWG Book Blast! Amanda Lauer’s ‘A Freedom Such As Heaven Intended’

This month, the Catholic Writers’ Guild is touring Amanda Lauer’s book, ‘A Freedom Such As Heaven Intended.’ It is a 2023 CWG Seal of Approval recipient! Will love or allegiance win when a Confederate soldier encounters the woman of his dreams as she’s attempting to escape the bonds of slavery during the final year of the Civil War.

A Freedom Such As Heaven Intended

Summary:

Despite her royal heritage, Alice is the third generation of women in her family to be enslaved, and the last if she has any say in it. The only thing standing between her and freedom is a certain Confederate soldier, First Lieutenant Marshall Kent. Follow Alice and Marshall’s story as suspicions turn to trust and a sense of admiration turns to something more as they navigate life during the final year of the Civil War.

Excerpt:

“How can I ever thank you for your assistance?”

“It truly was my pleasure. It’s not every day that I get to help a damsel in distress.”

The smile she gave him was dazzling. Just as quickly, though, it disappeared. She looked down at the ground and traced a circle in the dirt with her shoe. “Well, I guess it’s time we make our adieus…”

“I guess,” agreed Marshall. “Alice, I’ve enjoyed every moment we’ve shared today. Who knows where the winds of war will blow me, but if it’s God’s will, maybe this won’t be the last time we see each other.”

Special Considerations.

As of May 4, I have retired from my career as a Catholic journalist to pursue writing books full-time. It’s a leap of faith that I’ll be able to produce more novels and master marketing to make this a viable career.

My ultimate goal is to get one of my books made into a movie or a series. We are pursuing multiple avenues to do that. If anyone has connections please reach out to me!
