SPRING TIME

(1-min read)

“All my fresh springs are in thee.” – Psalm 87:7 (DW-DO)[1]

As a devotional writer, I sometimes worry that moments of spiritual inspiration might dry up. Deadlines loom – some professionally set and others personally mandated. What if I run dry of sacred insights?

My fears gradually have lessened over time through experiencing the steady inspiration that flows from the River of Life. When leaning into daily mass, adoration, sacred scripture, and prayer, fresh observations continuously stream forth from the Lord’s eternal fount. His Living Waters pour nonstop from both mountain-top places and underground springs.

May I be poised and ready to receive these fresh drinks every single day.

Come, thou fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace,
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.[2]

Lord, as Catholic writers, keep us especially close to You, immersed daily in Your life-giving waters.
